Yup, there are a couple brands of XJ tow hook bracket that are just plain scary. The factory Mopar one is decent and there are some exact copies of it that work well.

oh no, it wasn't your fault at all. Thats how rookies like us learn. It's just the cost of doing business! To be honest I expected to lose a fender or something with all the xj horror stories I was hearing at Perkins...

The D-ring bracket in question is from HiCountry Offroad, seemed beefy to me?

Or, a pair of these. If you don't want to build a new bumper you could cut slots on your stock bumper.

But, you'll be wanting a better bumper for the trails eventually anyway. So, might as well put the money you'd spend on pull points and put it towards a new bumper. But then again. Would you have needed a pull if you had a lift, bigger tires, lockers? Oh, I got side tracked.

Looks like it was a good time, wish I would have been able to make it out there.
